This brought tears to my eyes. I see myself in this post. I see my new little niece here. And I feel a certain importance emerging. This is the closest I may get to having my own child. Who will she become? What will we share together? Will we have the closeness I long for? This moves me so deeply Debi. Beautiful writing..as always….you are always touching something essential and meaningful.

This made me weepy – I so remember ’13′. Yet I have hope for your niece she seems a lot more sure of herself and her good qualities than I ever did. Beautiful picture – really evokes that mystical age of being a child/woman.

WOW, that was beautiful and so very true. I have 3 daughters 22,13 and 11… feel a bit like going going gone, but wouldn’t change them for the world. Cry with them, cry for them,but I keep telling mine I am allowed to be proud of them no matter what.I loved the “growing Pains” that is so true never thought of that before.
