Calling All Others

Under Announcements, Marcie, Toni, inspiration, motivation

We are of a ‘certain age’. Once girls of the 1950′s and 60′s..now women in a whole new day.

We span the globe from Tanzania thru the Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, and the UK. We stretch across North America – from the east coast thru the west..from Canada and the U.S.A. We are a collaboration of creative like-minded souls who seek to express ourselves thru both word and image.

We are married and single. We are mothers..and we are not. We are straight and we are gay. We can be found in the city..and in the country. We are in the prime of our young lives. With experience on one side of the door, and possibility on the other – we are boldly walking thru and into this brave new world that has been offered to us. It is ours. We are stretching and growing and becoming. Together..we are a community.

In person, we’ve never met. It was right here through this great worldwide web of connection that we have found one another..that we’ve discovered our voices and new friends. We are – quite simply – a group of extraordinarily ordinary women of  ‘this age’.

Today we are taking a break from our usual rounds of postings..looking outwards and beyond our bounds, calling on others who might want to contribute a guest post to this collaborative blog.

If you are interested (and of  ’this age’) in adding your voice and your vision to this group..we’d love to hear from you. Contact us with a thought..an idea..a whole post. We’re opening our hearts and our doors to all of you out there who may be willing to be our guests.

What a perfect image for this post, Marcie! It makes me smile. :) On this Sunday I’m reminded of all the sermons I’ve heard about the sower who threw out the seed wherever it would fall, on thorny, weedy, rocky, or fertile ground. I’d like to believe your “call” will fall somewhere on the exact fertile soil that will spring up for us some beautiful new “women of a certain age.”

Love that photo! We live near a swamp and always have blue herons around, none yet this year, but they will be coming soon. They are so amazing, so prehistoric…
And I am so excited to be on the schedule as a guest blogger….now I just have to decide what to write!

This is a great image, captured at just the right second. The bird seems almost to be wearing a ballcap. That swampy area doesn’t look fun to walk around in, but makes for a beautiful scene!
